The MEA SCORE is a metric displayed together with a therapeutic group or a specific
product on DrugsDisclosed.com.
The MEA SCORE is based on aggregated and anonymized responses gathered from patients using the DrugStars app where they are asked to regularly answer the MEA Questionnaire (see below) as well as patients in research groups, and patients using DrugsDisclosed.com.
The MEA SCORE is calculated as follows (the colours refer to the patient’s responses to the individual questions).
As the goal within healthcare is toward positive responses – both neutral and negative responses are considered detractors when calculating the final MEA SCORE.
AVG(SUM (% positive - % Neutral - % Negative) for 9 Questions) = MEA SCORE
The MEA SCORE is simply calculating a number between -100 and +100, very much like the popular Net Promotor Score (NPS) which is actively used across hundreds of other industries.
The MEA INDEX is a collection of these MEA SCORES allowing us to compare how individual products are perceived by patients at scale. The MEA INDEX documents how well a product is performing in comparison to others in terms of aggregated patient reported medicine experiences and attitudes (MEA).
The MEA questionnaire.
These are the questions asked of patients using the DrugStars app, or from patients and users of DrugsDisclosed.com. The questions are regularly asked of the patients using DrugStars and are asked in relationship to each medication they are currently prescribed, and have activated within the app. This real-world interaction over time allows us to see patient developments and patient patterns across a wide group of patients from all walks of life.
